Freedom of speech

Intimidation, aggression, threats, verbal harassment, censorship, arbitrary detention of journalists, impediment of coverage, theft of equipment, destruction of material, eviction of spaces or public institutions; Aggressions against journalists, photojournalists or citizens who share information by recording facts or disseminating information are some of the ways in which freedom of speech is attacked in Venezuela. The criminalization and disqualification of journalists and news media that cover critical issues have been a frequent practice. This has been recorded by several organizations that systematically record attacks on freedom of speech.
